Is Google AI Pro Free for Students? Student Offers & Eligibility Explained
If you are searching for how to get Gemini Pro for free as a student, the first thing to know is that Google’s student offers are not identical in every country.
In 2026, eligible U.S. college students can get a 12-month Google AI Pro trial at no cost. In Bangladesh, Google currently promotes a different offer: eligible students can claim Google AI Plus for one year free, subject to verification and the offer terms.
That distinction matters because Google AI Plus and Google AI Pro are separate plans. A “free Gemini student offer” does not automatically mean free Google AI Pro everywhere.
This guide explains who can qualify, what Bangladesh students can currently claim, what happens after the free period, and when paid Google AI Pro may still make sense.
Quick Answer: Is Google AI Pro Free for Students?
The answer depends on your country.
| Situation | Current Student Option |
|---|---|
| Eligible U.S. college student | 12-month Google AI Pro trial at no cost |
| Eligible student in Bangladesh | 1-year Google AI Plus student plan at no cost |
| Need Pro outside a free-Pro market | Check student discounts or paid Pro options |
| Cannot verify student status | Regular Gemini or paid plans may be required |
| Student offer has ended | The plan may become paid unless cancelled |
Google changes promotions by market, so always check the student-offer page while signed in to the Google Account you intend to use.
Why “Gemini Pro Free for Students” Can Be Confusing
Many users still search for “Gemini Pro” or “Gemini Advanced” when they mean Google’s paid Gemini experience. But Google AI Plus and Google AI Pro are separate tiers.
For Bangladesh, the current student page advertises a one-year Google AI Plus plan at no charge, while the U.S. page advertises a one-year Google AI Pro trial.
Always check the exact plan name shown during signup.
Who Is Eligible for a Google AI Student Offer?
Google’s requirements vary by offer, but eligible students generally need to be enrolled at a higher-education institution, meet the offer’s age requirement, verify active student status, use a personal Google Account and add a qualifying payment method where required.
For the current Bangladesh offer, Google states that eligible college students aged 18 or older can qualify.
Student status is generally verified through SheerID using a valid school or university email address. Your academic email is used for verification, while the subscription is claimed on the eligible personal Google Account.
How to Claim the Student Offer
Start from Google’s official student-offer page rather than a coupon website or unofficial “student account” seller.
Sign in with the personal Google Account you want to use, select the student offer available in your region and complete SheerID verification when requested.
After verification, review the exact plan name before accepting the offer. This matters for Bangladesh users because the current free student plan is Google AI Plus, not the U.S.-only free Google AI Pro trial.
A valid payment method may still be required even when the promotional period costs nothing, so review the renewal terms before confirming.
What Do Bangladesh Students Get in 2026?
Google’s current Bangladesh student page advertises a one-year Google AI Plus student plan at no cost for eligible students.
The offer must currently be redeemed by December 31, 2026. Google also requires a valid payment method during signup.
Unless cancelled earlier, the plan is scheduled to continue as a paid Google AI Plus membership after the free period. The current Bangladesh page shows a renewal amount of BDT 600 per month after the trial, although future pricing and terms can change.
This is Google AI Plus, not Google AI Pro. If you specifically need Pro, check the exact plan shown in your account.
Google AI Plus vs Google AI Pro for Students
For most students, the practical question is whether the free plan available to them already solves the problem.
| Need | Better Starting Point |
|---|---|
| General study and learning | Student AI Plus may be enough |
| Summarising lecture materials | Student AI Plus may be enough |
| Research and writing support | Start with the free student plan |
| Heavier professional AI use | Google AI Pro may be more suitable |
| Need a Pro-specific feature | Verify the current feature before upgrading |
| Not eligible for the offer | Compare regular paid options |
Use the free student plan first if you qualify, then upgrade only if it limits your workflow.
For example, a university student using Gemini to summarise lectures, create study questions and organise research may find the student plan sufficient.
A researcher, developer or professional using Gemini extensively for larger files, deeper research or demanding AI workflows may have stronger reasons to consider Pro.
Can You Get Google AI Pro Free in Bangladesh?
Not through the same 12-month free Pro promotion currently advertised for U.S. college students.
Bangladesh’s current free student offer is Google AI Plus.
Google also offers other student arrangements in some regions, including discounted Google AI Pro plans and a Google AI Pro plus YouTube Premium student bundle.
Bangladesh is currently listed among the supported countries for the Pro-and-YouTube student bundle, subject to eligibility and the offer shown to the individual account.
This is why two students in different countries may see different plans even though both search for a “Gemini student offer.”
Always base your decision on what Google displays for your own account and region.
What If SheerID Cannot Verify You?
Make sure your university email is valid, your institution name matches the verification system and your personal details match your academic records.
If automatic verification fails, SheerID may request supporting documents.
Do not buy or borrow an academic email address to claim a student promotion. If you cannot qualify, continue with Gemini Free or compare legitimate paid options.
A failed verification also does not necessarily mean Gemini itself is unavailable to you. The restriction applies to the specific student promotion, not necessarily to regular Gemini access.
Can Family Group Members Claim the Offer?
Account status can affect eligibility.
Google’s current guidance says family group members may need to leave their shared family plan before claiming an eligible student offer. Certain subscriptions through third-party partners can also affect eligibility.
Before leaving an existing family plan, check what shared storage or benefits you may lose.
This is especially important if your current Google account already receives Google One storage or other family benefits.
Changing account arrangements purely to claim a promotion may not be worthwhile if the student offer does not provide what you actually need.
What Happens After the Free Year?
A student offer is not permanently free.
Google requires a qualifying payment method for applicable student promotions, and the subscription can convert to paid billing when the offer period ends unless you cancel.
For Bangladesh’s current AI Plus student offer, Google states that the membership continues at the displayed monthly rate after the one-year free period unless cancelled earlier.
That means students should treat the renewal date as part of the offer, not an afterthought.
Check the date when you activate the subscription and decide before the free period ends whether you want to continue paying for the plan.
Should Students Upgrade to Google AI Pro?
Not automatically.
If the student plan already handles your study workflow, there is little reason to upgrade simply because Pro is the higher tier.
Google AI Pro becomes more relevant when you specifically need Pro-level access, do not qualify for the student promotion, have finished your offer period or use Gemini heavily enough that the higher plan provides practical value.
Consider what you actually do with AI.
If your normal workflow includes lecture summaries, study questions and occasional research, the student offer may be enough.
If Gemini has become part of daily research, professional writing, advanced analysis, development or other demanding work, paid Pro access may become easier to justify.
Google AI Pro for Students in Bangladesh
Bangladesh users who need paid Pro access can review the current Google AI Pro subscription in Bangladesh available through DeltaBox IT.
DeltaBox IT currently provides Google AI Pro access on the customer’s own Gmail through a family-invitation model for supported packages, so customers do not need to share their Gmail password.
The activation model, validity and package conditions depend on the selected option, so check the live product page before ordering.
This is a paid third-party subscription route and should not be confused with Google’s official student promotion.
If you qualify for Google’s official free student offer and that plan meets your needs, claiming the official offer first is the more logical option.
If you need Pro specifically or do not qualify for the available student promotion, the paid option becomes more relevant.
You can also compare other AI tools available through DeltaBox IT if Gemini is not the only platform you are considering.
DeltaBox IT is an independent third-party digital subscription provider and does not own, operate or represent Google or Gemini.

Family-group membership can affect eligibility. Review Google’s current offer requirements before changing an existing family plan.

Final Thoughts
If you search for how to get Gemini Pro for free as a student, check the exact plan, country, eligibility rules and renewal conditions before signing up.
In 2026, eligible U.S. students can receive a one-year Google AI Pro trial, while eligible Bangladesh students are currently offered Google AI Plus free for one year.
For most students, the sensible approach is to claim the official free student plan first if eligible and use it for real coursework.
Upgrade only when a specific limitation appears.
If you later need Google AI Pro, compare the paid plan based on the features and usage capacity you actually need rather than assuming the highest tier is automatically necessary.
